Vibrant, graceful and made to celebrate, this Parrot Green Ikkat Semi Katan Silk saree is woven on the loom with traditional, authentic Ikkat, where the yarns are tie-dyed before weaving to create its soft-edged floral jaal across a lively parrot green body. A rich wine border frames the saree, and the rani pink pallu carries bold Ikkat paisley motifs, finished with handcrafted rich tassels. The fabric is very soft and flowy, with a gentle silk sheen that drapes beautifully and stays comfortable through long celebrations. Made for women who love colour, craft and a festive glow without the weight of heavy silk.
Each piece is a work of art which uniquely displays the weaver's craftsmanship. The beauty of this quintessential fabric is that no two hand-loomed fabrics can be similar-looking. And pls note that getting minute flaws in fabric is very common. The imperfections in this perfect fabric can be anything from an uneven yarn to a faded print. The beauty of an original handloom saree lies in its imperfections.
Pls note that there may be a mild colour variation in the saree due to colour reproduction in camera and screen.
Frequently asked questions
What is this saree made of? It is a semi katan silk saree with a parrot green body covered in an Ikkat floral jaal, a rich wine border and a rani pink pallu with bold Ikkat paisley motifs and handcrafted tassels. It comes with an 80cm rani pink blouse piece; the total length is 6.3 to 6.5m.
Which occasions is this saree best for? It suits Diwali, Navratri, Durga Puja, weddings, sangeet and mehendi functions, housewarmings, festive family gatherings and festive office celebrations. The lively colours also make it a cheerful gift.
How can I style a parrot green Ikkat saree? Wear the rani pink blouse with gold temple jewellery or polki and a gajra for a festive look. Layered pearls keep it elegant, and oxidised jhumkas, stacked bangles and a macramé potli give it a boho look. A wine, gold or mustard blouse also works.
Is it comfortable for long hours? Yes. Semi katan silk is much lighter than pure silk, and this saree is very soft and flowy, so it stays comfortable through long celebrations.
What is Ikkat weaving? Ikkat (also spelt Ikat) is a resist-dyeing technique where the yarns are tied and dyed in a planned pattern before weaving. This gives the motifs their soft, feathered edges, and the design shows on both sides of the fabric.
Is semi katan silk the same as pure katan silk? No. Pure katan silk is woven entirely from twisted pure silk yarn, while semi katan is a silk blend. It is lighter and easier to maintain, while still giving a rich silk look.
How do I care for it? Dry clean only. Iron on low heat on the reverse side. Keep perfume and deodorant away from the fabric, and store it folded in a muslin or cotton cloth, refolding it every few months so the folds don't set.

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
- Dry clean the first time; mild hand wash in cold water after that
- Never wring — press water out and hang over a rod
- Dry in shade, never direct sun
- Iron while slightly damp; linen takes a hot iron well
- Linen creases as you wear it. That's the fabric, not a fault
- Before the first wash, soak 15 minutes in cold water with a handful of rock salt. This sets the colour
- Mild detergent only, cold water, no bleach, no machine
- Don't let soap sit on the fabric — rinse quickly
- Shade dry; light starch keeps the crispness
- Medium iron
- Dry clean only, always
- Blot stains immediately with a dry cloth. Never rub, never use water
- Store wrapped in muslin, never plastic — plastic blackens zari
- Refold along different lines every few months so creases don't set
- Iron on low, reverse side, with a cotton cloth in between
- Dry clean only
- The zari is delicate — avoid hooks, velcro and rough jewellery
- Store rolled or loosely folded in muslin
- Iron on the lowest setting with a cloth between, never directly on zari
- Natural dyes release colour in the first two or three washes. Wash separately in cold water
- Mild detergent, no soaking, no bleach
- Shade dry, reverse side out
- The colours soften and deepen over years. That's how natural dye is meant to age
- Dry clean only
- Iron on the reverse, never over the embroidery or painted areas
- Store flat in muslin so threads don't catch
