Feather-light, graceful and full of colour, this Pastel Peach Gulbahar Peacock saree is a hand embroidered soft Kota saree with a delicate peach body and vibrant hand embroidery. A dense pallu of peacocks and blooming flowers in pink, green, blue and yellow flows into small embroidered motifs scattered across the body. The soft Kota base is beautifully fine and airy, so the saree feels almost weightless and drapes softly from morning to evening. Made for women who love pastel colours, fine fabrics and handcrafted detail.

About the Gulbahar collection

Gulbahar means "spring of flowers". It is Silk Ethnics' collection of hand embroidered sarees, where every motif is hand embroidered on a light, airy base, so each saree feels festive and special without the weight of heavy zari.

Why soft Kota feels so special

Kota sarees take their name from Kota in Rajasthan, known for its fine, airy weave. This is a premium soft Kota with a feather-soft hand feel, light enough to wear comfortably for long hours, even in warm weather, while the peacock embroidery gives it a rich festive look.

Where to wear this pastel peach saree

Wear it for Diwali, Navratri, Durga Puja and festive get-togethers, temple visits and pooja at home, haldi, mehendi and daytime wedding functions, baby showers and family celebrations. Its soft pastel palette and lightness also suit office festive events and school functions for teachers. It makes a beautiful festive gift for a mother, sister, daughter or friend.

How to style it

Festive and traditional: pair it with a rani pink or emerald green blouse, gold-toned temple jhumkas, a few bangles and a gajra.
Soft and elegant: choose a peach or ivory blouse with layered pearls, pearl drops and a pastel potli for a graceful day-function look.
Boho: wear a teal or peacock blue sleeveless blouse with oxidised silver earrings, a macramé potli bag and kolhapuris for a relaxed, artsy festive look.

Each piece is a work of art which uniquely displays the craftsperson's skill. The beauty of handcrafted fabric is that no two pieces look exactly alike, and minute flaws are very common. The imperfections can be anything from an uneven yarn to a slight variation in the embroidery. The beauty of an original handcrafted saree lies in its imperfections.

Pls note that there may be a mild colour variation in the saree due to colour reproduction in camera and screen.

Care Instructions

Handloom sarees last decades when cared for gently. Few simple care tips for different fabrics.
Pure Linen / Linen Cotton
  • Dry clean the first time; mild hand wash in cold water after that
  • Never wring — press water out and hang over a rod
  • Dry in shade, never direct sun
  • Iron while slightly damp; linen takes a hot iron well
  • Linen creases as you wear it. That's the fabric, not a fault
Cotton / Mulcotton
  • Before the first wash, soak 15 minutes in cold water with a handful of rock salt. This sets the colour
  • Mild detergent only, cold water, no bleach, no machine
  • Don't let soap sit on the fabric — rinse quickly
  • Shade dry; light starch keeps the crispness
  • Medium iron
Silk / Silk Cotton
  • Dry clean only, always
  • Blot stains immediately with a dry cloth. Never rub, never use water
  • Store wrapped in muslin, never plastic — plastic blackens zari
  • Refold along different lines every few months so creases don't set
  • Iron on low, reverse side, with a cotton cloth in between
Tissue / Organza
  • Dry clean only
  • The zari is delicate — avoid hooks, velcro and rough jewellery
  • Store rolled or loosely folded in muslin
  • Iron on the lowest setting with a cloth between, never directly on zari
Hand Block Prints — Ajrakh, Kalamkari, Bagru & Dabu
  • Natural dyes release colour in the first two or three washes. Wash separately in cold water
  • Mild detergent, no soaking, no bleach
  • Shade dry, reverse side out
  • The colours soften and deepen over years. That's how natural dye is meant to age
Hand Embroidered / Hand Painted
  • Dry clean only
  • Iron on the reverse, never over the embroidery or painted areas
  • Store flat in muslin so threads don't catch
