Rich, elegant and full of story, this Rich Black and Teal Kota silk saree has a deep black body sprinkled with small zari butis. Its border and pallu come alive with woven forest scenes of graceful deer beneath flowering trees in pink, green and ivory, set against bright teal and zari. The light Kota silk keeps the saree airy and easy to drape, so its bold look stays comfortable for hours. Black and teal is a striking festive pairing for women who like to stand out with understated confidence.

The charm of woven forest motifs

Deer and flowering trees are classic motifs in Indian textiles, often seen in forest-inspired weaves that celebrate nature and abundance. Here they are woven in colourful threads and zari, turning the border and pallu into a little garden scene that looks beautiful when draped.

Where to wear this black and teal saree

Wear it to Diwali parties, festive evenings, sangeet and cocktail functions, receptions and family dinners. Its rich yet refined look also suits formal events, award functions, conferences and office festive celebrations. It makes a striking gift for a sister, friend or anyone who loves bold, artistic sarees.

How to style it

Festive and dramatic: pair it with a teal or emerald blouse, antique gold jhumkas, a choker and a bold bindi for a regal evening look.
Soft and elegant: choose a black or pink blouse with layered pearls and pearl drops for a polished, classic monochrome feel.
Boho: wear a black sleeveless blouse with oxidised silver jewellery, a macramé potli bag and kolhapuris to play up the artistic forest motifs.

Each piece is a work of art which uniquely displays the weaver's craftsmanship. No two handwoven pieces look exactly alike, and minute flaws such as an uneven yarn are a natural part of the weave.

Pls note that there may be a mild colour variation in the saree due to colour reproduction in camera and screen.

Care Instructions

Handloom sarees last decades when cared for gently. Few simple care tips for different fabrics.
Pure Linen / Linen Cotton
  • Dry clean the first time; mild hand wash in cold water after that
  • Never wring — press water out and hang over a rod
  • Dry in shade, never direct sun
  • Iron while slightly damp; linen takes a hot iron well
  • Linen creases as you wear it. That's the fabric, not a fault
Cotton / Mulcotton
  • Before the first wash, soak 15 minutes in cold water with a handful of rock salt. This sets the colour
  • Mild detergent only, cold water, no bleach, no machine
  • Don't let soap sit on the fabric — rinse quickly
  • Shade dry; light starch keeps the crispness
  • Medium iron
Silk / Silk Cotton
  • Dry clean only, always
  • Blot stains immediately with a dry cloth. Never rub, never use water
  • Store wrapped in muslin, never plastic — plastic blackens zari
  • Refold along different lines every few months so creases don't set
  • Iron on low, reverse side, with a cotton cloth in between
Tissue / Organza
  • Dry clean only
  • The zari is delicate — avoid hooks, velcro and rough jewellery
  • Store rolled or loosely folded in muslin
  • Iron on the lowest setting with a cloth between, never directly on zari
Hand Block Prints — Ajrakh, Kalamkari, Bagru & Dabu
  • Natural dyes release colour in the first two or three washes. Wash separately in cold water
  • Mild detergent, no soaking, no bleach
  • Shade dry, reverse side out
  • The colours soften and deepen over years. That's how natural dye is meant to age
Hand Embroidered / Hand Painted
  • Dry clean only
  • Iron on the reverse, never over the embroidery or painted areas
  • Store flat in muslin so threads don't catch
